It’s my third year of summer moto tripp’n and I’m finally getting this packing thing down. Here’s what I take when getting on the highway. I have links to Amazon or you can always head to REI or Big 5.
Pants: Two Pairs… I’ve overpacked this a few times. I end up with the same couple of pants the whole trip. I have some Free People Overalls that I had lined with Kevlar. They keep me warm and protected. My new favorite are Dovetail work jeans. They are made of heavy-duty denim and are super duper comfortable.
Shirts – Three t-shirts and 1 underlayer. Even though it’s hot during summer days, the nights in high elevations can get chilly. I love my Patagonia Capelines. They are lightweight and amazingly warm.
Leather Jacket – My Ole’ Trusty Roland Sands Trinity Jacket
Understuff – I bring extra underwear and cheap ones. Usually, I just throw them away. It keeps your pack lighter and makes room for souvenirs. Socks – really as many as I can fit. I take my nice wool hiking socks.
Flip Flops – for campground showers and lake swims
Tablet – BOOKS!!!
Chargers and chords for all of the above
Helmet Bluetooth Chord
Sleeping Bag: I like to go on the warmer side of sleeping bags. If you plan camping in Yellowstone or anywhere up north it gets chilly at nice. It sucks to be cold. Get at least a 15 degree or lower bag.
Snack Bars – RX Bars are my fav right now.
Makeup – just the basics.
Butler Maps: Best motorcycle maps in the business. Hit all the GOLD ROADS!
